Environment

Eardley International believes that the transport industry has a responsibility to help protect our environment. We consider that the most efficient and cost effective way to achieve a high environmental performance is to reduce resource use. The critical resources of fuel, energy and water are valuable and should be conserved wherever possible.

Our vehicles are all Euro 5 or above and all our fridges meet ATP certification (Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs and on the Special Equipment to be used for such carriage http://www.unece.org/trans/main/wp11/wp11fdoc/ATP-2007e.pdf). We monitor fuel consumption to ensure that the vehicles are not using more fuel than need be. All tyres are disposed of in an appropriate manner. Waste oil and associated products are collected by a specialist company and recycled.

Our truck wash and on-site facilities have been developed with the environment in mind. The truck wash uses a state-of the art ozone generator to filter captured and recycled water for the main wash, which is then thoroughly rinsed to give a spot free finish. The on-site water storage facilities ensure that we can provide water in times of shortages and protects our site against flooding.

The on-site facilities have been built and are run using energy efficient products. We have used the latest insulation techniques to prevent against heat loss, all lights are low energy, hand-dryers are the best, low energy machines on the market. Even the café uses local produce where-ever possible, reducing food miles.
